This contract was designed by WWT Consulting to treat the waste water from a large equine veterinary facility and incorporated primary treatment in a GRP tank based system and final polishing from a system of vertical and horizontal flow reed beds.
These were engineered into the natural topography using excavated material to form the sides of reed bed filter system and avoid importing or removing from site. The final stage incorporated a planted overspill wetland area.
Birch Brothers overcame the harsh winter conditions in December 2010 to create a fine result in far from ideal weather conditions.
