Drakelow Nature Reserve river bank profiling
Client: The Environment Agency
Value: £72,000
There were two key requirements of this contract, namely:
- improvement of flows on a bend in the River Trent by widening the main river channel and re-profiling the south bank
- the creation of a fluvial reed bed on a ledge in the river and a still water reed bed in ponds backing onto the river
Our photographs of the scheme include our first ever otter holt construction and the cormorants' nests abutting the ponds.
