About Birch Brothers (Kidderminster) Ltd

Our history

Birch Brothers (Kidderminster) Ltd was founded in 1982. It is a direct successor to a partnership – Birch Brothers (Kidderminster).

It was founded by Frank, Ben and Mick Birch. All had considerable construction experience, largely in the water industry. They were joined by Richard Cumming, who brought great national and regional contractor experience with him.

The company has grown steadily and today we employ 23 staff.

Our management

One of the founding members of Birch Brothers (Kidderminster) Ltd still plays an active role in the company. He has now been joined by the next two generations of Birches too. Together we maintain our reputation for high quality, professional civil engineering services.

Richard Cumming is our Managing Director. He is responsible for the overall management of the company, as well as marketing, purchasing and health and safety.

Frank Birch is our Operations Director. He is usually site agent on our biggest contract and is also our training assessor.

Alan Cox is our Contracts Director. He is responsible for all contracts management and particularly monitors health and safety and client liaison.

Stan Good is our Senior Estimator. He controls tender and contract negotiations. As a leading figure in Friends of the Earth, he leads our environmental management process. He is ably assisted by Graham Pope, who has a wide experience in building and construction as well as civil engineering.

Lee Wright is our Contracts Engineer. He manages design and planning, including health and safety plans under Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM).
